in the United States.
International sailors should check their local radio frequency use.
There are 50MHz, 53MHz, and 72MHz Mhz frequency bands that are
used for surface and aircraft use in the US. However the 50 and
53 bands
require FCC licensing and the 72 band is only for aircraft use.
